Learning needs to be fun!

Sometimes I wish I was less serious. Learning needs to be fun… I’m constantly reminded of this by my two-year-old daugher (shown here in all her seriousness – taking after dad). At least, if it’s not fun, it needs to be memorable (surprising, shocking, beautiful, counter-intuitive.)

Government Blogs Pt II

Back in September I started thinking about how Blogging in the Public Sector could benefit government agencies, especially in the education sector. This was mainly brought about by Andy Budd’s presentation for the British Government: Weblogging in Public.

It’s great to hear that Andy was invited back again to give a more expanded talk for people within the UK Government! Does anyone know if the Australian Government is consulting about similar ideas here?

Ashamed to be an ‘Aussie’

Words can’t express how ashamed I feel watching the news tonight. Thousands of “Aussie’s” forming a mob – “reclaiming the shire” – oh my goodness. Shouting “Aussie aussie aussie… oi oi oi!!”, chasing and bashing anyone of middle-eastern appearance, attacking ambulances and ambulance officers who are trying to get the injured away.
