I'd probably think about setting up all new teacher accounts with a set of standard filters (like anything from colin.tyrrell@tafensw.edu.au could go straight to the junk heap... sorry Dad :) ) that reflect the general mails that would get sent. Everything from the IT department (like servers down etc) could go into one folder for instance, leaving a lot less mail in the inbox. Imagine if you only <em>used</em> a computer once per week for 0.5hr, and that was just to check your email... and when you log in there's over 50 unread emails - that's the situation some people are in. No matter how ridiculous the extreme situation seems, I reckon there's a few simple things that could be done to improve the situation for everyone?
